•
Nobody would be complaining about all the weapons being released at once, that is the most delusional take I have seen all year
No-life losers would grind them out in a week then whine that there is "NoTHinG to do" 😿 Can't feed the addicts all at once or they OD. It's for their own well-being.

  • You must be new here lol. They would find something to complain about, like they always do. I bet it wouldve been 'why did they release them all at once instead of giving us time to grind for each?' Lol

Lol, no bootlicking. Just stating what I've seen on these boards. What you said is true about more time to grind them all, but people would've complained saying what I did. Like I said: I've seen it here before lol

What's one thing you could possibly glean from all the weapons being available at once that people would complain about?

  • I already stated what I think the complaint would've been. It would've been about not being about to focus on getting a specific weapon because they all would've been in the loot pool.

A complaint is an expression of one person's dissatisfaction and/or disapproval toward a situation. Whether your position towards the community is valid or not, which it is when it pertains to the endemic toxicity of this forum, it's still a complaint because you're emphatically condemning their behavior. The issue is the basis of your complaint, which is characteristic of a slippery slope. You're insinuating that people would be displeased with an unassailably beneficial change that has virtually no downsides. There's quite literally nothing wrong with having every weapon advertised available at the same time, and your complaint can only be rooted in wanting to stir the pot. Ultimately, your post provided nothing constructive towards the discussion around Into the Light and the complaints related, but it did contribute to the toxicity.

  • I'll give you the answer you won't like. Let's deconstruct the following statement you made: "There's quite literally nothing wrong with having every weapon advertised available at the same time, and your complaint can only be rooted in wanting to stir the pot". "quite literally nothing wrong" - emphatic and absolutist "quite literally" - emphatic & "nothing" - absolutist This is business. Bungie must weigh, based on metrics... strategies respective content rollout. Early Access is a great example... And it's not always just a marketing ploy to get an extra 10 bucks out of people. People in this game binge. And Bungie has those metrics... then a lot of those people complain that there's no content in the game. I have a friend that does this... playing for 6 years. It's like some dog breeds... you can't just leave their food out, or they'll literally hurt themselves by eating too much. So, even beyond trying to encourage player engagement and in marketing for the next expansion.... there's 'literally' ethical concerns respective player health and charted player behavior. Your statements above are hyperbolic and disingenuous to the OP's observations about the incendiary and exaggerated negativity that often plagues community morale. It's free. So, what? Bungie isn't allowed to pad pop numbers leading into the Final Shape? And, they changed it... and you're still on this soapbox. Which suggests you don't actually want to understand the rationale behind these decisions... you just "want what you want" without compromise. "every weapon advertised" The implication here is that there was a deception... that they promised or validated your desire that all the content for Into the Light would be available at launch... all at once. If that IS the case, that assumption was ignorant... because the game has never worked that way even in major expansion releases. Also, the information was provided on the same day... they didn't have to give us any of the details, btw. "your complaint can only be rooted in wanting to stir the pot" "only" - absolutist "rooted in wanting to stir the pot" - obstinate & magnanimous Clearly the OP is frustrated with the hyperbolics of negativity and entitlement that impacts community morale. However, your continued engagement even after Bungie has compromised suggest that in the 2nd part of your statement that you're projecting. The OP might be poking the bear, but you're holding a sharp stick too. You know what is guiding principal for judicial discretion in law? Happiness. I'm not kidding. If both the plaintiff and the defendant seem dissatisfied or unhappy with the judgement... that's good validation that a fair compromise has been reached in said adjudication of the issue(s) in dispute between the parties. And btw, I'm of the opinion the execution was wrong. However, your responses to the OP are disingenuous and smarmy. 😇 👍💠
This is business. Bungie must weigh, based on metrics... strategies respective content rollout. Early Access is a great example... So, even beyond trying to encourage player engagement and in marketing for the next expansion.... there's 'literally' ethical concerns respective player health and charted player behavior.
This in its entirety is ridiculous because it completely sluffs the accountability of the players onto Bungie. Even if they decided to commit to drip-feeding the weapons like they intended, players who binge the game would continue to binge the game, as is the status quo. Staggering the content wouldn't change their behavior nor how often they engage with the game because they're already committed. Bungie has no reason to base their decision upon the 'ethics' of player health, that's solely on those who are unable to control their impulses and is corroborated by Bungie's knee-jerk revision of the release model. While Destiny 2's design model does encourage engagement, and for some to an unhealthy degree, it's not unique to Destiny 2, nor is it even unique to this genre. Video games are considered under several Addiction and Mental Health Associations as addictive, and it includes even the simplest games. It's regularly iterated that the subject of addiction is rarely, if ever, the cause of the addiction as its observed several people are capable of moderating their engagement. Addiction is when someone is unable to moderate themselves, and often choose to forgo their responsibilities in lieu of their vices. In a similar vein, one could argue that staggering the release of these weapons in order to promote engagement would create opportunities for affected players to relapse on a defined agenda. Moreover, fewer available weapons wouldn't stop players from farming excessively; they would just farm each specific weapon for longer periods of time, each. To present this as a potential issue with having the weapons available all at once is disingenuous because it's ever-present and not precipitated by this decision, rendering it defunct and unreasonable to attribute to the community itself.
It's free. So, what? Bungie isn't allowed to pad pop numbers leading into the Final Shape? And, they changed it... and you're still on this soapbox. Which suggests you don't actually want to understand the rationale behind these decisions... you just "want what you want" without compromise.
Ultimately, I don't care about the decision itself; I will play the game regardless and I'm okay with waiting, but it would be nice to farm every weapon as soon as possible. In any case, I never took a position in this decision. I only commented to challenge the OP's flawed, but not entirely untrue assessment of the community. Neutral yet critical.
The implication here is that there was a deception... that they promised or validated your desire that all the content for Into the Light would be available at launch... all at once. Also, the information was provided on the same day... they didn't have to give us any of the details, btw.
I meant it literally; the weapons that were advertised, nothing beyond that. It wasn't a statement where I believed they were going to be available altogether day one, nor was there any implicit meaning behind it.
