They could have included this in the FS deluxe edition as a 30th anniversary style event. But they didn’t, and ik you will never concede that point because you are obstinate just like every other baby on these fourms. Bungie execs already plan on leaving, thats been leaked from Bungie employees. They just wanna launch marathon to give themselves a bonus before leaving. As well Sony clearly only cares about Bungie making a PlayStation exclusive title just like how they do with every developer they purchase. Destiny is essentially side money compared to whatever is produced by Bungie going foward. I refuse to continue this conversation further if you GENUINELY believe Sony purchased Bungie to make money soley off D2. Yea Sonys upset thats only because Bungie promised a higher pre-order rate and failed to deliver. This is a band-aid on a larger problem. While I personally believe that FS will do well as its had the most development time out of any DLC to date I think Bungie has done irreparable damage and is better off focusing on sales one month after launch since they failed to meet their pre-order goals

 •
Stop defending terrible choices with "It's free content".
No argument has been made on why its a terrible choice. All thats going away is the curated rolls, even then all thats needed are just kills in the new activity for them. Everyone here is running around with half-baked info acting like they know everything

 • Here's a couple ways it's not very good since you asked. Reused map? Check Reused mechanics? Check. Reused rogue like currency? Check. Reused commentary? Check. Reused Weapons? Check. Timegated weapons? Check(yes curated count) Timegated Super Black Shader? Check (y, tho?) Also people keep saying it's free but I doubt all of it will be. Just waiting to see what they release in Eververse.
Huge props to Bungie if there is none to minimal, tho. But not like they can help themselves, we've had what, 3 Eververse armor sets in one Season, 2 of which were collabs.
I do appreciate the Devs trying at the very least.

And the curated rolls dont count as timegated since the weapons themselves will still be in the game after. (Shows you didn’t watch the stream) As well its shown that you get superblack by reaching a rank with both new vendors lmao Its literally only in the Western World that microtranactions are looked down on. If you make money its YOUR choice on what you wanna do with it, if YOU wanna buy something for a game you like it’s literally no one’s buisness to tell you “dont do that” its YOUR money. You act like its Bungies fault that some people cant control their spending. No “well they are targeting them” will prove you right because literally that argument works with any company that sells SOMETHING.

And are you just going to ignore all of my other points completely then? Lol I mentioned Eververse, yes but that was just a side note, not an actual point. And if you wanna have a discussion about Eververse sure thing, but you can't just hone in on a side tangent and pretend that was the whole argument, lol.

Why would I address stuff that doesn’t matter? I pointed out a massive flaw in your side tangent, I addressed the only paid aspect of this entire topic you brought up the rest is all free content so who cares? Literally only the people who want to complain. You have 3 weeks to make a hour of time anyday after Tuesday thats all it will take to do those bounties. And after that you dont have to do that activity ever again because the non-curated weapons are staying. People cry when stuff isn’t drip-fed but cry when it is as well, its always the same i dunno why Bungie listens to this toxic community never any criticism of any kind just pure unfettered hate all the time

 •
This is why i cant stand arguing with entitled children. They argue and argue without seeing it from any other perspective other then a entitled childs point of view. Leave it at this, YOU are complaining about FREE content in a FREE game
Nope, nope, nope. Screw what I just said, Imma bout to get dirty. The fact you can't see the irony in your statement is dumbfounding. You refuse to see why people may have problems with Into The Light even when it's plainly spelled out for you. Instead of going
Hey I guess that's one way to look at but I don't personally agree
is too much for you. And before you go pretending I'm unable to do the same, I have had many discussions about Into the Light and the current state of Destiny that have been extremely positive here on these forums. Pointing out and criticizing Destiny does not equate to complaining. There are many flaws with Destiny and to not criticize when they take a miss step or fail to provide good content then that helps no one, and nothing will improve. Also if you actually believe Destiny is free then sadly you are extremely misinformed. I'm not talking about some existential meaning like "your time isn't free". The game is literally not a free to play game. What you get in the "free" version is a demo, it's a pretty massive demo in comparison but a demo nonetheless. Regardless nearly all Destiny players have paid up the wahoo for its expansions, 100$ a year with everything included, myself included. Which is a lot of money but granted you get a lot of play time as well. Now let's get into microtransactions, become again you are EXTREMELY misinformed. You seem to believe that it is only cosmetic equipment but that's unfortunate not the truth. Most of the best weapons in the game are locked behind a paywall. New meta gun? Well you need the current expansion for that. Gjallarhorn one of the best all around Heavys? Well you need the 30th Year Expansion, 25$! How about literal pay to win options on the store. Forsaken Pack? Well for 20$ we'll you give more than 20 exotics, no need to achieve them, you just bought them! Deepsight Harmonizer, an item needed to speed run your ability to receive deepsight weapons and build some of the best weapons in the game? Well you just need the Premium Battle Pass! Which you'll have to earn by leveling it up throughout the season! Wait you want it now? Well give your credit card info because you buy yourself all the way to level 100! And before you go saying
That's an option, you don't have to buy anything
So what? That means nothing, nearly everything in this world is optional. But Destiny clearly has pay to win mechanics, and that not even including is pay for convenience features either. And now to expand on your "It's free content" ruse. Ahem JUST BECAUSE ITS FREE CONTENT DOESN'T MAKE IT GOOD You get that?

 • Man went on a rant without reading anything You “addressed” a point i never said i brought up Ever-verse and you some how tie that to DLC? You literally are just being hypocritical and placing unfair expectations upon Bungie. My point still stands about Eververse, you can’t tell people how to spend their money there. We have sets in game that look amazing already. If you wanna spend money on specialized theme sets like subclasses and other games spend your money there. We can argue about pricing of skins but thats not what you wanna argue. Now to DLC, go look at every other living MMORPG. Done? Okay good we can move on
(you wont look so here https://store.steampowered.com/dlc/39210/FINAL_FANTASY_XIV_Online/ )
As for the upcoming content, its free thats a fact you wont ever change. You spend no money to access it, and it takes no money to play. You have 0 right to complain about a free content drop in a FREE game, especially to the cry baby level you are at. And the hilarious thing is YOU STILL wont learn. Hopefully next time Bungie considers making content its paid for because clearly anything free isn’t acceptable

 •
Free doesn't make it okay to drip feed content especially when players sentiment is very negative
The game is free and you are getting free content What is your point? Player sentiment can be negative all it wants it doesn’t mean its right especially in this community of entitled children. Players act negatively towards trials does that make it okay to kill the mode so the majority can gain access to rewards easier then it was originally intended or should they have doubled down and made the rewards more desirable and rework passages Players aren’t always right especially in this community and while the devs suck they made the right choice you are playing a Live Service MMO-RPG they didn’t have to make this content OR make it free to everyone

FOMO and timegating, Bungie’s bread and butter.
Its 2 weeks you can easily find time massively in advance Grow up Every game has a level of FOMO, and every live service game has time gating Helldivers 2 has the FOMO of missing big events as major orders will never be repeated and all of its content is time gated

 • False equivalency comparing Helldivers Major Orders and Destiny loot FOMO. You’re trying to compare a rotating map system with a predatory loot progression system that is made in a way to be monetized. If Helldivers was set up in a way in which you had to pay in advance in order to participate in the Major Orders, and the completion gave you limited edition loot, then your comparison might make sense. The closest comparison you can probably make is the Warbond system and the seasonal model, but the Warbond system is made to be completely anti-FOMO as it is evergreen and can all be acquired for free.

There will never be a part of Helldivers like the previous orders again because that was the introduction to the games story. Yes missions like those will crop up but you missed the games starting story and will never see it or have a chance again. Your example makes no sense You wanna be selective with FOMO when it literally stands for “fear of missing out” and whats a better example then literally missing the games story? Its like buying into destiny to find out you cant do any previous content only what dropped that season. Try arguing that cause if we are gonna use your logic then Helldivers is worse because atleast in Destiny 2 you WILL eventually get better loot and stop using that gear you could have missed

 • You’re still making false equivalence. The story isn’t why people play Helldivers, and it’s not what the game is even marketing. People don’t log in and think “man, I can’t wait to see how the story is going. I only play for the story and nothing else.” Whereas loot is why people play Destiny. It’s the main thing that keeps people playing. It’s a looter shooter and Destiny uses its genre as an excuse to milk engagement time and money instead of enhancing the gameplay experience. You can argue that both games have FOMO, but not understanding the context of gameplay loops and player engagement is what makes the argument weak.

FOMO in Destiny is purposefully inflicted upon the user by the company as a way to artificially extend engagement and to psychologically manipulate players to spend more money. “Play now or never get this god roll loot. Pay us now or miss out on getting loot that we purposefully remove every year.” Destiny intentionally created the problem of FOMO in their game and their solution is “pay us”. That is why your equivalence between Destiny FOMO and Helldivers FOMO is false. Again, understanding the context is why your argument/point is weak.

We both know this yet you’re choosing to be devils advocate in bad faith. FOMO can absolutely be self inflicted. You, for example, fear that you’ll miss out on restoring your bruised ego from getting your out of pocket takes called out on. Demonizing psychologically manipulative monetization practices that prey upon the weak wills and ignorance of consumers is not the hot take you’re insinuating it is. That’s why gambling and casinos have to be federally regulated. Anyways, I’m off the clock and not getting paid $107/hr to talk with you between clients so I will bid you goodnight 👋
