I'm seeing a few people making posts on social media saying that raids and dungeons etc should not allow crafting whatsoever and it made me think about the solution.
When you get a non crafted raid weapon with let's say five out of five roll - Most people are going to ignore it because they know they can craft the enhanced perk version. So right here, we see that people value enhanced perks a little too much. I've seen it countless times, even if they have the 5/5, they don't care because of enhanced perks.
So why can't the solution to this crafting non crafted debate be:
Non crafted weapons allow enhanced perks
Crafted weapons do not allow enhanced perks
People who don't want to spend 300 hours getting the perfect weapon to drop can enjoy using the gun they want to use with the perks they want to use, it's just slightly less powerful.
People who want to grind have a reason to. Enhanced perks are exclusive to non crafted weapons so they have reason to grind for a long time.
I really don't think the answer is gatekeeping entire weapons. The solution seems so simple to me. Enhanced perks is the only thing that should be gatekept
You keep both sides to as close to as equally happy as you possibly can. Rather than missing out on entire weapons and perks, crafting enjoyers would just be missing out on a bit of extra power.
