Bows are still effective. Fusion rifles, before the various reworks, needed very specific perks to work in PvP. Some bows just won't work at all, like Trinity Ghoul. I'm glad that it's stopped bow swapping though.

My friend is a fusion fanatic, gets him bagged a lot, but I get it. They’ve had more than their fair share of exclusive nerfs. I think what really hurts is the fact that bows went from 0 head / 2 body to 2 head / 0 body. So landing partial charged bow projectiles gives no real return unless you have to hit 3 shots, which has an abysmal TTK.

Bungie broke them completely so they can slowly creep them back up. This is how they deal with what they view as a major issue.
