I love hearing the "stop playing" remarks..... You understand that doesn't solve the issue right? Smaller pools mean a higher chance of blow out matches. The smaller pools mean less match making options..... You can alter the match making sure. Rig it to be annoyingly specific perhaps. But overall. That match making won't do it's work.....without a player pool backing it. Something I learned when I put the breaks on playing this game for a while. Just play to enjoy yourself. No point in taking it seriously especially in PvP......you'll lose your mind that way. Win or lose eventually that reputation marker goes up and engrams will come out like a slot machine. There's plenty of ways to play in PvP overall and trials just makes things a bit more high stakes. You can be the guy who plays sacrificially. i.e. you lay down the damage or force the enemy to react and your team mates (hopefully) mop / clean up (not many do in my experience but I keep trying). Or you can sit back like 3 campers with tents hoping your enemy comes to you then it's a firing squad. I won't argue PvP is a shambles but make the best of it, Bungie has shown they don't care in a consistent enough manner as it is. If you're getting too hot headed. Step away. Care less an crack on with it.

  • My thoughts exactly. I jumped in this week for the first time since before Lightfall, and as a solo player, I'm losing a lot more than I'm winning. But like you said, look at the loot drops and engrams that you can get, just for taking part. The only thing that annoys me are the babies who quit after losing the first round, leaving 3v2. Looking on the bright side, the match ends quickly. I'll never go flawless but I'm getting half decent loot. More importantly, I'm not losing my s**t over it.

  • I know when i make the "stop playing" remark, which I have , it's usually in reference to ppl who express no enjoyment out of crucible at all, and usually extreme frustration. Just chilling and vibing is fine, I do it all the time. But there are ppl who can't detach themselves like that and should probably stop. As for player pools. It's kinda a self-perpetuating issue. High player pools mean less frustration because of more average players, but the ppl on the low end leave, and that squeezes where the average is, the new lowest leave except for a few rinse repeat. Most ppl blaming bungie for that don't really understand the natural population cycle that usually hits games. (I'm not saying you are blaming bungie that's just a general statement)

  • There are natural player cycles for sure. Bungie would partly be to blame for the cycles depending on the state of PvP itself.
