• And basically tell everyone who isn't casual to get bent? You see no failings with this solution?

No I don’t …. The addicts will play anyway and the toxic elites may actually leave the community

  • I've been called a "casual" numerous times (which quite frankly is utter nonsense given that the word is so ill-defined it may as well have no meaning anyway) and I can't see your idea working. Firstly, I don't think the casual player base would be able to sustain the game on their own. Second, you'd still have the "dreaded streamers" playing and too many casuals claim they're the reason the game is in the state it's in. Lastly, the players you've expressed disdain for on multiple occasions, the "addicts" (another word I've grown tired of seeing on this forum) and "toxic elites" are unlikely to go anywhere and will probably be even worse than they are now simply because they'd be that much more pissed off about the way the game gets handled in favor of the "casuals."

  • As opposed to now…. Cant even find players for some PvP activities… catering to toxic elites has killed the game… They need to think carefully about what would bring the casuals back… it’s the only way to save the game

  • The issue with PvP is that it's a mode designed for toxic elitism, there's very little to change that. As for Bungie thinking about what will bring back casuals, that I can agree with but only if it's not at the cost of people who play the game seriously. I don't understand the last part personally since it is only a game, but they do and that's just how it is.

  • The bitter addicts are a minority and they will play regardless… cater to casuals it’s a win win

  • So you're going to disregard what I said in my previous response about the bitter addicts and toxic elites then. Fair enough, but I'll ask this as more of a rhetorical question than anything else: if the "bitter addicts" are such a minority, why do you bring them up so much? Another thing, for someone who so often declares others bitter, plenty of people here on the forum could very likely say the same about you.

  • Because bungie started catering to them and it drove the casuals out… now the game is moribund It’s not hard to understand

  • It's quite hard to understand because from my perspective as a casual, there's plenty to do in this game that doesn't require brain and thumb breaking effort or skill, plenty of options for doing the more difficult, and more than a few posts regularly from people demanding Bungie make things easier and easier. Perhaps it isn't an issue of lack of casual-friendly content but simple laziness.

  • But I’ll make it even easier… cater to the majority…. The game will be far more successful and alive, even if that means easier activities it’s worth it for long term game health

  • You play a lot I definitely wouldn’t call you a casual

  • Perhaps I play a lot but I don't run raids, dungeons, or GM Nightfalls frequently, I don't have a positive K/D for Crucible in any mode, I have no major seals completed or gilded (except for Conqueror but I owe that to a couple of guys who help me with it) and I'm incapable of being a sherpa for anything. Also, I've been playing very little for the last few weeks as well, and that doesn't even count the whole seasons I've skipped over. Frankly, I can't believe I need a resume to prove my casual status but there it is and I stand by my assessment.

  • When I was a patrol main I would play for hours upon hours making up games for myself…. Even though I was only playing content that toxic elites sneer at I certainly would not have considered myself a casual… I knew every square cm of every patrol zone

  • Patrols are still in the game.

  • Yes but I stopped playing as a protest against fake difficulty

  • Where's the fake difficulty in patrolling? Aside from Neomuna, nothing's changed in any significant way. Besides, if all you or other casuals want to do is patrol-level difficulty anyway, why are you so confronted by what goes on with the rest of the game? It's big enough to have content for every sort of player.
