All you need to do is report and block the player, that's it. Bungie will review the report and take action if necessary. You don't need to do anything else.

I have reported him but you can’t link the messages that the other player has sent. Also you have a completely additional way to report cheating way wouldn’t you have an additional way of reporting people you act like this? You have to agree it’s not a healthy community if you allow this.

If you have reported the player, then you have done all you need to do. Bungie will see the report and take action. Bungie can see all chat logs, you don't need to do anything else. Unfortunately, you're always going to find people like this in any video game and other online service. All you can do is report and block. You may also wish to set your messages to friends only to avoid getting messages from unknown players. -
Thank you for the advice. I did post over in the forum ninja provided. If you don’t mind, maybe give it a uptick and help it reach the proper people. That way we can help build the community in a better direction and not cuddle the toxic player base.

Yes, you can set preferences to avoid random nuisance, but then you also limit yourself to win you’re running something on LFG and someone’s mic is not working. Also, if Bungie can see everything then, why also need additional ways of reporting cheating? When reporting cheating, you can upload links of what you saw videos also, if you see paid advertisement for carries. Instead of just reporting in game. The so far everything you said, and options that bungie gives is deal with it, report it, blockblock them, and let the next player that they decide to mess with deal with it. There should be additional ways of reporting heinous people that are being racist and promoting self harm. Example being told to unalive yourself.
