This person is trying to kill Destiny in the exact same way people tried and almost succeeded many months ago. We still haven't gotten the numbers back. Leave movement alone. Go play CoD.

  • Which specific people tried to kill Destiny 2 months ago? There’s quite a list. And honestly CoD is suffering from movement overuse (and SBMM) in the same ways as Destiny.

Penalties to sliding. Those people.

I think AE can be removed in a slower sandbox. But right now in the movement hell we're in, it's appropriate. Nerfing movement exotics wouldn't contribute to killing PvP. If anything I think people who don't use those exotics would have a better time. They would just need other changes to justify it. And to be honest slide spamming is pretty cheese. Having no penalties to your own shooting while being harder to shoot is just cheese. There is a small bit of skill to mastering shooting while you slide (ESPECIALLY with non-auto weapons like HCs or Bows), but once you hit that relatively low ceiling your opponents just have a worse time. Slide speed and length should be standardized before they consider shooting penalties though.

No more modifications necessary. Sliding isn't cheese. You can predict and punish a slide if you know where to aim. It should be understood from both sides at an intermediate stage in your pvp development.

  • But that's the thing about sliding. Everyone slides different distances at different speeds based on what their class/exotics give. Radar also doesn't really account for someone sliding or moving quickly in general. You could have a ping on your radar that says someone is 15+ meters away, but be aped/slid on by an SMG less than a second later. Someone with an SMG can slide as much as they want in unpredictable ways because they'll be at an advantage as long as they're close. Someone with a bow or a HC who slides into a lane and then slides back out contributed significant damage while being in no danger. Even if you camp the lane they're about to slide and put a scope on it, it's likely to predict incorrectly and be punished.

  • Sklil gap, learn different slide distance and speeds based on your opponents loadout and aim accordingly. Stop crutching the radar so much then if players that aren't invis are suprising you; you need to wear headphones or you lack basic awareness.

  • Wow! That sounds super fun and relaxing! It's not enough that your typical mid-skill PvP player likely already has an encyclopedia of knowledge and game sense if they've stuck around for so long, now every player should learn to expect when other players breathe and what color underwear they're wearing! It's not hard to see what other people are using or to use your eyes. Quite frankly though it's hilarious that you consider memorizing slide distances and speeds a feat of basic awareness. Im sure the majority of the playerbase just hasn't caught on to that yet and they'll come back to pvp as soon as they do.

Sounds better than bot walking everywhere like in Valorant....There are 2 common slide speeds to remember; if 2 is too hard for you; then i dont know what else to say... there is a standard slide and a boosted slide; ok and maybe a 3rd behemoth slide; but rarely see those.

  • Strange how games like Counter Strike and Valorant have far bigger and far healthier communities that have been around forever. They make Destiny 2 PvP seem niche in comparison.
