That would be good especially since arc has very low survivability

  • Unfortunately, I think that’s kinda what Bungie was going for - the glass cannon element. Outgoing damage and strong CC, but not as good defensively. All they’re really missing is a T-crash buff and they’d be good on that front…

  • Re the glass cannon statement, Hunter - CN is best damage (solar). Plus you get resto Titan - T crash is good but new solar gauntlets are better with the exception of flying targets. You get resto. Warlock - needlestorm is best damage and you get crowd control and woven mail. Arc does OK but certainly is lacking if it is meant to be a glass canon subclass. Especially on Warlocks, apart from ability spam via traces, they have no super that matches the other 2 arc supers in the dps space.

  • True to a certain extent. While supers are important I don’t think you can just boil an entire subclass’s identity into the super. Glass cannons aren’t just about single target damage. They’re more about high damage for what they’re doing, and favoring more in speed and damage output than survivability. I never said Bungie was succeeding, but Arc Hunters have very potent melee kits and their super was and still is top tier for damage. Nighthawk just got a massive buff this season. Arc warlocks are one of the best add-clear subclasses in the game with how easily they can spam aoe abilities and they can provide damage support via arc souls (damage being the important word) Arc titans need a buff for thundercrash since it’s been so heavily power crept, and their offensive potential in PvE has kinda been handicapped for PvP aspects instead. All in all, glass cannon is basically just speed and damage instead of survivability. Even if it doesn’t always hit the mark

  • I see what you are saying but a glass cannon should excel in whatever role the class is geared towards. Hunter is a damage glass cannon for sure. It falls just behind solar but I much prefer Arc. You actually get better survivability with AC and still have a a devastating super to use. In high ad density areas, where you get bombarded non stop, restoration can easily get outdamaged and you are under pressure to keep it going. With AC all it takes is a melee kill or a finisher and no one attacks you. Arc hunter is probably the most glass cannony in a good way out of the 3. Arc Titans are kinda like hunters just without AC. Instead you can get more ability spam from pulse grenade traces and hoil. They kinda sit as middle ground between arc hunter and warlock. But of both but not as good as either. Warlocks, i would argue and say that Solar warlock can probably do a better ad clear with solar grenades and you get resto on top, and well of radiance. Solar nades also double down on damage on a single target. Not saying arc warlock is terrible. Just 1 to 1 comparison, doesnt quite stack up. I think behind stasis which is literally the worst subclass generally speaking with exceptions of very specific builds that are fun but very effective, arc is right behind. Arc needs just that little bit of something. Mostly for warlocks. I think maybe something as basic as an exotic that maybe significantly reduces aoe and duration of the beam but gives it double the damage. So it can be popped as a fast damage dealer and be on par with TC/GS. And void classes are another one that need a bigger look at in general. Unless Bungies intention was to make all void classes like jack of all trades master of none. Overshields - great but get mowed down in higher end pve so pointless. DR(woven) or resto offer better long term solutions. They need to have a look at what they can do about this to make it more viable. Titan bubble needs a look at, its just a cheap well of radiance at this point. It offers the same buff as Well, doesnt protect you outside unless titan has the helmet and you cant shoot out of it. Im talking strictly PVE, not pvp as we all know what a bubble can do haha. Warlock nova bombs need a buff. As unimaginative it sounds, just give them an exotic where it turns it into a nova lance (D1 nova bomb variant) and doubles the damage while applying 15% weaken if a direct hit. Lance was great, a fast, almost linear nova bomb that traveled pretty fast in comparison to normal one.
