There are games with lower population than destiny, that have more modes than just 7.
they seem to handle it pretty well

Idk what games but destiny population is really low right now. This morning there was around 60k online total, worldwide, around 10% is usually in PvP, that's 6000 players, split between 7 modes, searching at the time your searching, vaguely in your skill bracket & continent. That's very very low numbers. PvE isn't much better tbh, I run obscure things like old seasonal content & it's usually fine for players before lightfall, but this year has been awful, battlegrounds I only match Chinese players, salvage & deep dive is completely dead, savatbuns spire is just brand new players, as in just downloaded the game new. Even running director strikes when completing campaigns is hard going to find anyone. I honestly think they left it too late to realise they need to keep people, they've reacted far too late & people moved on. Watched a video from a guy who played MMOs for like 40 years n he explained how games die that people think will never die, it's very slow, almost painful, as players hang on & devs lose hope & creativity, everything he said described destiny over the last few years & his video was 4-5 years old, n it feels like it's slipping into the black hole of non existence

I understand where you’re coming from. But they have to keep trying new things. I left destiny because the pvp was bad. Control and elimination only. Both slayer game types both super boring to play. They started doing new game types too late in destiny’s life spawn to keep people from staying. Now the casual pvpers have issues. I say -blam!- it and play a different pvp game.

Edited by illz: 12/17/2023 4:45:26 PMYeah and not a single one of them is using peer to peer hybrids matching people from all 4 corners of the globe, technology from 17 years ago. They have dedicated servers in which the peers/ players cant manipulate connection- or in destinys case- the person with the worse connection has the larger advantage. Next

Then play a different pvp game with dedicated servers then still holding on to this sinking ship pvp 🤷 If you’re going into destiny to main just pvp you’re gonna have a bad time 😂 anybody who plays pvp games could tell you that. Next

Edited by Say Whatt: 12/17/2023 4:41:58 PMIm sure there are but The Master Chief Collection is not one of them. Recently started playing it and some game modes never get you into anything after waiting 10 plus minutes.

1. Prove it 2. This is Destiny 2, not these other unnamed games you are speculating about, so all that matters is how well D2 is functioning - and it is not great at the moment - hence, my suggestion

Destiny currently has estimated 45k playing this month. Halo Infinite has 13k Runs more game types than destiny. Does it take long to find a match yes but you’d find one. Find one faster in destiny than halo infinite but they’re managing. But your first problem is playing destiny pvp in general 🤷 Definitely recommend another game for pvp experience.

As long as they play well enough for the people playing them it shouldn't be a big deal. Some of them play better than they used to when the population was higher.
