Warlock Fashion Options/Class Identity

Warlock fashion is dry, and I think it could use a shakeup. Warlocks have plenty of good pieces individually, but the general format is always the same in that the chest piece is a solid body with flowing lower parts. And the class item? Boring! Let's see some change. Where Hunters and Titans have their class items as big identifiers for their class, the Warlock class items do not have the same visual impact as cloaks and marks. A clear example of this is in the new promotional still for the Witcher crossover. The Hunter cloak is in clear view with the stitching, and the Titan mark made of chainmail is even more present at the forefront of the image. What of the Warlock bond? Not even visible because the bond comprises so little of the overall outfit and thus so little of the visual identity. Chest pieces - I understand the 'dress' might be part of the visual identity of the class at the moment, but it looks too silly. When a soldier goes to battle, they don't have flowing garments because it puts them at risk of being grabbed - so what about something more tight fit? What about a chest piece like Rhulk's? With the big fan behind the head? The last two new raid armors have pushed this boundary with Vow and Root's chest pieces. The extra arms - visually interesting and breaking molds! The shoulder pieces from Vow - visually stunning! But these armor pieces don't have much to go with outside of their sets because the vast majority of the armor produced is still in the same set mold. Class item - Let there be more visual flair! Instead of the bond being more or less from elbow to shoulder, let it be as big as the whole left arm. Think somewhere between a retiarius gladiator and the Captain America Wakandan shield. Or let it have more visual effect! Instead of a 'void class item' being a ring of purple light, let it be two arms that hold up a mini-supernova, flexing and breathing as the energy pulses. And for a 'solar class item' to instead have a flaming phoenix, roaring to life and blazing with energy before fading away and eventually resurrecting. This could even be tied to the class ability energy - no charge? No phoenix. I'm sure there are plenty of good ideas the community has on ways that the current fashion scene in Destiny could be shaken up. These are just a few of my thoughts. What other ideas might the community have?

  • I personally disagree as someone who plays 99.9% Warlock, I have lots of different options available. However more options are never a bad thing. Also if I'm going face to face with an enemy I have way more to worry about than if my robes are getting pulled on than I am wondering where my team went.

I've never been a fan of big flashy bonds they look so tacky to me, I love a more clean subtle bond with effects that doesn't have a projection of a huge symbol coming out of it, bonds like the one from VoG or Kingsfall are great. As for chest pieces I think we need more coats or open robes rather than a bunch of bathrobes, the luxe coat is one of my favorites. Boots and gloves are probably the most boring part of a warlock. To each their own everyone has different fashion taste.

    • There was a time where we also got trench coats. Not we only get one here and there, mostly robes (aka dress).

    • I am still waiting for something futuristic looking. Can we please move away from some kind of robe that is all torn-up on the edges? I mean, I know that’s like suggesting Titans having non-bulky shoulders. 😳 I was thinking something like: Snake Eyes ninja outfit, but give it a futuristic-armored look. I also wonder if they could do a class item, in a similar look as something like Sunbracers. Where instead of a thin-round bond that goes over the arm , it could be a part of one upper arm section. It could glow like Sunbracers, but change color based on the super/ subclass you have picked.

    • Doesn't warlock have shoulders and small parts of the arm connected to its chest piece? Also warlock without dress is best warlock

      • Wouldn't mind seeing more holographic bonds, such as Stella Incognita, Ancient Apocalypse, or Forbidden Visage bonds. Heck even the Painted Kitsune Bond from the Fortnite cross-over is a good solid look for bonds

      • As long as you’re not asking for hoods or capes you got my support. Your idea is really cool
