No, you will not get banned for using a VPN in Destiny 2 if you use it only for improving ping and security purposes. If, however, you're using a VPN to cheat with the game's mechanics and/or gain an advantage over other players, your account could be banned.
So you are safe to do so as long as your intent is not a malicous one.
But Cheaters are everywhere, your Solution might just be a small Fix but a fix nonetheless.
Go for it.
as a added bonus... avoid Big names in the VPN area.
Nord VPN and Express VPN are not worth it.
ask on Reddit or look it up what the best VPN provider might be for u.

sounds good, btw prob I'll get something like ~150ms of ping, but I prefer to get a high ping instead playing against cheaters during all day, thanks for the answer, I play this since D1 (2014) and I really dont want to get baneed, just 1 more question, why u dont think Express and Nord dont worth ? bcs I can use them for free (my friend can share with me, so would be really nice if they work well, really dont care about high ping ... thanks soo much

if u get it for free take it. and why i not recommend them... with big names come big issues but thats not to discuss here. But thats my A** not liking to use VPN's Good luck with the VPN and lets hope you dont get Bad connection banned
