Actually the thing for Cenotaph wasn't a change. That was the Exotic's functionality and the description was incorrect.

So I’ll only humor you because you’re the only person that said something actually related to the post.. The “No actually” defeats the purpose of the quality of life that is “weapons and exotics working as intended”. Regardless of Bungie saying “It always worked like this and we’re fixing the description”, why wouldn’t they make exotics that are more “weapon focused” rather than “ability focused” effectively usable with any subclass? The point of this post is to highlight that two exotics that are both meant for buffing a weapon’s versatility are vastly different because one is ‘gate-keeped’ by subclass and one isn’t. Even if it was a “description error”, they were both released with players reading as “I can only use such and such weapon with such and such subclass”. Make it make sense and don’t just brush it under the rug with a “Actually they just fixed the description error”

Okay, I understand the complaint, and let me clarify that I completely agree, but I was just merely adding that it wasn't really a sandbox change to Cenotaph's functionality where they had a good opportunity to change Triton, it was an incorrect perk description.
