Allowing to Alter Character After Creation.
I believe there should be the option to alter a characters appearance / gender after you have created it. A players identity may change over the course of playing this game, the game is six years old, and someone can completely change their gender identity in that time. I personally know people that have changed their identity in that 6 year time span, and it would be great to have the option to change their guardian to better reflect themselves. Also, some people may have just made their character ages ago and don't like the way it looks after 6 years. I don't know how difficult it would be to implement, but I feel it would be a relatively simple change that would just be a small quality of life feature to have.

It's an indication of how limited this engine is, simple little things that games did in the 90s and 2000's , Bungie can't do in 2023, because of an engine that's barely holding together with bubblegum and duct tape -

A few things on this. 1. The character creator is extremely limited and honestly lacking heavily. Most likely due to the fact that Bungie knows we wear our helmets most of the time. Though it would be a better reason to have it toggled off in the Tower. 2. If they allowed it, swapping say, gender. Would also have to take every armor piece you have in your vault and convert it to the other. And knowing bungie, this could cause bugs… Imagine a male Titan wearing skinny Female leggings but ripped man gauntlets 😂 3. It isn’t an “identity” issue. Many Straight male gamers choose Female Characters because they are heterosexual and refuse to play as male characters for that reason. And vice versa for Female Gamers. But there are also gamers who choose the same gender and game vicariously through that character. Either way I do agree with you, they should try and let us do this though it would be a large undertaking.
