your final point make no sense
If their next game is good peoples will buy it ....
Plenty of studios made terrible games for them to make something great afterwards
Destiny was never about PvP ...always been a side mode and my guess is that its been pushed by activision and now they are stuck with it
And if they were to announced that PvP will get nothing anymore I'm guessing maybe 10% would quit ....

But they already made a couple of ground breaking Doom clones and then they made the Halo series. It was that little worldwide phenomenon that included the first console game to revolutionise pvp as well as including the first game to make more money than any Hollywood movie or any other game had made in history. Easy to forget but so considering that little tiny fact then remind me why they had to make a bad game to make a good game? After 3 decades of making ridiculously successful and genre defining games?

Not the same teams ..... Also they made games before marathon that been forgotten And if we were to just look at numbers ....destiny is still the most popular game of is genre and every games that try to copied it died within a year

People will buy it, true. However, a standalone PvP title isn't going to last anymore than a standalone PvE title. It'll have a better chance, as PvP games can do really well, but as we've seen with games like Apex Legends, COD Warzone and Fortnite... you have to continually add and evolve those games to continue to get support. Popularity wanes eventually when you don't shake up the sandbox, map and game modes. Destiny has a chance to be the metaverse forever game studios dream about...but if they don't evolve and provide more content...it will be hard to be and stay successful. -

Money can compromise artistic integrity but a truly gigantic sum of money will tend to bend a person over and make them it's wife. Everything Bungie is doing is based on their very best analysis of how to make more money and while half a million people play their game each day they do not care what what 15,000 noisy complainers want. Don't forget that years ago they even signed a deal with Tencent (the gaming industry's equivalent of The Devil Himself) so Bungie's collective artistic integrity is lying on a beach at a Mediterranean resort enjoying -blam!- with all of the dev's muses and laughing about how simple the world used to be while everyone at the offices does whatever the money junkie management says because although it might hurt a little sometimes, it doesn't hurt as much as losing their very good jobs would. Meanwhile, if Satan exists, he won't seem to be able to wipe the smile off his face. Edit: it "blammed" out the word for mixed alcoholic beverages!?
