Staying in matches with a clear cheater could be a reason for a ban (for association) BUT the warning you received has nothing to do with it; you may get restricted for bad connection. I hope you reported the cheater, BUT you are not allowed to write his name here, there is a strict no name'n'shame rule in the forums, so delete it.

 • 1. I removed the name 2. I didn’t stay in the match, I left before it was finished because I was tired of being killed through walls

 • To be clear, you would only face punishment for playing with a cheater if you are in a fireteam with them. They don't ban for being randomly matched with or against.

 • Well, as my posts would suggest; you’re wrong. I was given the warning today when I signed in. I don’t play with cheaters/hackers/network manipulators, all of my friends are just like me (average, working class fellows who just like to enjoy the game in our down time) and I did NOT stay in the match for the entire duration.

 • did it actually say "banned" for poor connection, or "restricted "? bungie does not ban for connection issues. they 1st issue a warning, which is what it sounds like this was, then if it doesn't improve they issue a 2 week restriction from pvp. then, if the connection is still not any better, all subsequent penalties are 2 month restrictions from pvp.

Hey, moron, you said yourself that the warning was for your -blam!- internet connection. It had nothing to do with who you played with. I was trying to give you clarification on a separate matter you're apparently too dense to comprehend. Get off of wi-fi and use a half decent ISP, and you'll have no issues.

 • So.. you were trying to give me worthless, irrelevant advice? Thanks buddy, I’ll be sure to remember that next time I encounter a cheater! Oh, and maybe I should’ve been a little more specific; I don’t use wireless internet, I’ve got my console wired into and right next to my router/modem.

 • Ah, cool so your ISP just sucks. Cool deal, then you won't do anything to fix it that means. See you in a few days complaining about your restriction! Have a -blam!- day!

 • You too bud! Seeing as how I can’t do anything about my internet provider, I guess now is as good a time as ever to quit. Stay toxic, scumbag
