People will come in with excuses or just accept that he did something wrong, but I've played with this guy for more than a year (often daily). He's selfless and has done hundreds of hard carries through raids and other activities. Met him through a sherpa run and have built up to where I can help his sherpa runs. He doesn't cheat, run cheats, or anything...he just plays D2 a ton. He's the best example of what you'd hope to find on LFG. Incredibly patient, supportive, and will make sure you not only get things done but find hidden lore or other things along the way. He sherpas for folks on the disabled destiny discord, for crying out loud. Taking people through raids who need extra help and support. He's the best kind of Guardian, one that Bungie should be highlighting, not banning. I'm truly and incredibly baffled how this could happen. All he does is help other people play...why would he be running any kind of cheat? He's not sweating in Trials...he's doing his 200th RoN run with newbs for fun... If folks like this are just randomly getting banned with ZERO transparency on what he possibly could have done...Bungie is more done than I feared. My other clan mate is getting constant Weasel errors that are 100% Bungie side... This spaghetti code is unraveling fast.

This is not a bug or anything like that. The guy clearly did something wrong so Bungie banned him for it. Bungie will never ban someone who is completely innocent. It doesn't matter what you think, Bungie clearly disagrees. Unfortunately for that player, it looks like his/her time in Destiny is finished for at least 500 years.

  • Why am saying this might be false ban? - I still can access Companion app, can see my bungie friends that is online, can purchase bounties - My profile on Bungie.net still active and nothing is wrong and even I still all accessible on 3rd party apps such as DIM, Braytech and etc. - The only thing happen right now is I cant login and it shows the notification saying my account is ban.

Being banned from the game only stops you from logging into the game. It does not stop you from logging into the Destiny companion app or looking your stuff up through third-party websites. This is not a false ban.

  • Sorry i never been ban in any games that i play in my entire life so i have no idea how ban is..but whats the point of Bungie banning account then if player still can access everything other than login to game. Is it because I pay all those DLCs using real money so they still allow partial access even account was banned?

  • No, he CLEARLY didn't. There's zero transparency, so how could we know? Clearly did something wrong is just blindly following anything Bungie says...but with their track record is that warranted? Remember not just 1 or 2 seasons ago when countless people received error messages that blamed the user's side for things and wouldn't let them log in...that was, in fact, a Bungie side bug. It wasn't until major streamers started getting the error that Bungie snapped into action. Their systems have been blocking people from playing and all kinds of other errors for seasons. So, it is not out of the realm of possibility that they'd have an issue sending false positives...and thanks to their TERRIBLE support system, we are just told to accept it and believe, with zero transparency into the why. The dude is a really good player, with zero need to cheat and doesn't. I'm telling you, this is something that should be looked into...because we've been here before with WEASEL and other error codes that were going out to people who weren't experiencing issues on their side. Bungie came out and admitted, but t took A HUGE effort on the part of many experiencing these errors before anyone would believe them. Folks in these forums were blaming the users for weeks...but as more and more reported, they finally admitted it.

  • Just about anyone is going to take the word of Bungie over the clanmate of someone who is banned. You can't claim he did nothing wrong. You haven't played with him every minute and been in the same room as him while he was playing. If in pc, it could be something as simple as leaving a cheat program or another program that has the potential of injecting code open while Destiny is open. No matter the reason, Bungie is not going to give the reason. Doing so would give others insight as to what exactly Bungie looks for when using a ban. Submitting the speak is all that can be done. The chances of the ban being overturned are practically non existent. His time playing Destiny is likely over.

  • But they spell out reasons for bans, so why not specify so we can know if it's a glitch or real? This lack of transparency and actual customer support is maddening. Same Bungie "support" the last time there were MAJOR errors on their part that locked out hundreds if not thousands of players. But because everyone's first response is to victim blame, it's slow to get sorted....until someone famous says something (then a solution in hours). We could get hundreds of people he's supported, carried, and helped over the years to share stories. Yeah, folks won't trust a clan mait...but look at the record. Look into his sherpas. Why on earth would someone with this much time risk it? Why would he need to? The guy orders all the pins, shirts, and everything from Bungie (overseas, which is maddeningly expensive). Absolutely LOVES them and the franchise. Way more likely that because of playing from an overseas spot and their spaghetti coded instanced servers his activity pinged their bots wrong and now we have no way to verify or even know if people are really going to look at it. 8 plus years of playing and thousands of hours of time and money spent on something and just treated like a lowly number because he's not on a stream. And folks who should support other guardians quick to blame because they don't want to take a hard look at how Bungie's servers have really been as of late. That couple of season ago WEASEL stuff is still going on. I lost game access last season for two weeks, with no apology from anyone...just a number they're comfortable writing off. I love the game and love helping people through content. All we do is carry folks through GMs and Raids. We're not doing Trials or anything weird. Dude was literally fishing all week and gets a ban. I know because he streams it...

  • See the post from another person with links to post match reports. Your friend win traded in Trials. His ban is justified.
