When they vaulted content the game went down to like 55gb, 3 expansions later we are at 108gb (on PlayStation anyway lol). I’m hoping final shape is the last thing that comes to D2. D3 I think is needed and should only be on current (new) gen and pc. It’s time to leave ps4/Xbox one behind.

The problem I have with D3 is that I have no confidence in it. Sure, year 1 and maybe even 2 might be stable, but it's hard to ignore the shape of things to come. History WILL repeat itself.

the engine they use now is dog water. they said it themselves the D1 engine somehow ran better and was easier to make changes on. the current one crashes as they are developing content. Bungie needed Activision it shows. They're somehow greedier without them.

Also needs a new and better engine than this one held together by duct tape.

It probably some who dont want to lose the gear they’ve acquired and start again. Which i do see their point as bungie would sell us the same content and weapons from D2. I dont know if its possible, but couldnt they revamp D2 and stop supporting old gen? I dont understand the technical side so i cant speak of it. Also would a D3 even fix the issues, why do we assume bungie wouldn’t make similar mistakes again? Im not convinced there wouldn’t be constant DCs in D3 also

See with d3 they could do it on unreal engine. Marathon is currently being developed on unreal engine 5. The engine they’re currently using is the tiger engine which has been used since D1. (Probably before but I don’t know). Revamping d2 i don’t see them doing that. They would essentially have to rebuild the entire game which could take a couple of years. It wouldn’t be worth the time or resources to do. With D3 they could not only develop it on UE5 but they could also do dedicated servers (wishful thinking I know, but marathon is getting that also so). Fresh start all over. Assuming they did all this for D3 as well as dropping old gen, perhaps it could fix some things but yea who knows with bungo lol

I’d say the people who downvoted are old gen players lol. Doesn’t bother me though. Destiny is definitely suffering from it by being held back by old outdated hardware.
