I managed to solve the problem, I set my profile as main and restored licenses, after this i was able to play the game again

So my version of this issue was resolved by deactivating my ps4 under device management in PlayStation.com, then reactivating the console from the console itself. For some reason my PS4 activation status was screwed up - on the console I couldn’t activate it or deactivate it, hence the PlayStation.com fix above.
