My family have their own accounts on the same Xbox. We used to be able to share the content on the purchases made for each season but not anymore. We now have to drop over $70 EACH to enjoy the seasons/dungeons over the base game game even though we live in the same house? I’m sure you can check and see we all use the the same IP address. This just happened with Lightfall and it shows how little you guys think of the fans.
Dungeon passes and seasons are tied to the bungie account. This has always been the case. You do not need to rebuy the annual dlc. That will game share.

 • That’s fine but my issue is this: multiple users of one family on a single Xbox, each of us with unique XBox gamer tags, would now need to spend an absolute boatload of money to enjoy the seasonal content. All can play the base game but only one account has the seasonal stuff; the other accounts are SOL. Just started with Lightfall.

It’s been that way since season 8, with the introduction of the current seasonal model.

 • That’s not true at all; Beyond Light, and all its seasons, along with all prior seasons in all expansions were available to all family members on XBox and I was the only one purchasing. Maybe game share is the wrong term but “family share” was definitely possible.
That’s not true at all;
Actually it is true, if you aren't lying about it happening to you - you got a lucky bug and your luck has now ran out; heres Bungie telling you that passes cannot be shared years ago when they were asked why sharing between accounts wasn't working for someone Forsaken didn't have seasons, it had an annual pass that was platform based (like expansions) and as a result could be shared - Shadowkeep was the first expansion to introduce them and the tweet below is from 4 days after it released.
Expansions are tied to a single platform and can be shared. Season Passes are tied to a single account so they can be used via Cross Save.
https://twitter.com/DestinyTheGame/status/1180563023318016000

 • Love the accusation of lying like I post BS on this forum all the time. For Shadowkeep and Beyond Light, my account was fine as-is. I remember going in to “manage game” on kids’ accounts and was able to unlock the season passes there. That ended with Witch Queen. They bought with silver unbeknownst to ppppp

 • Whoops😬 Like I was saying, they paid silver last year for the seasonal content, I think it’s messed up for Bungie to expect at least a father and son to spend over $200 for a year’s worth of seasonal access when using the same Xbox which was the only one in the house. It’s a quick way to kill loyalty built up over years. We’ve spent silver in cosmetics and all but this is disgusting and not going to do it anymore. The greed and blocking legit family share is BS and that was the point of the original message.

 • Then, as the other user pointed out, it was a lucky bug in your favor. From the Purchased Destiny Add-Ons article, Season Pass section:
Season Pass Premium Track rewards cannot be game shared and every player must purchase a Season Pass on their account to access that Season's seasonal content. Game sharing is a platform feature and is not officially supported by Bungie.
From the Playing Destiny Content on Multiple Consoles or with Multiple Accounts article, Sharing Destiny Content with Multiple Accounts section:
Some platforms may allow players who own Destiny content licenses to share game content with other accounts on the system. For information on how to access game sharing features, please see PlayStation Support or Xbox Support. Players accessing Destiny content through the game sharing feature may not be able to access all DLC, add-ons, promotional items, or pre-order items for which the primary account owns the licenses. Bungie does not support any issues with loss of access to items on accounts that are using the game sharing features to access Destiny content. Important Note: Players should ensure that any code redemption or digital game purchases are made on the correct account. While some console systems may allow game sharing between accounts on the same console, Bungie can only support Destiny content for accounts that own the content.
• From my experience, there’s no such thing as luck with this game lol I’m thinking family share was different from game share up until recently and that’s how we got the prior seasons. Silver purchases NEVER crossed over the accounts though so there was a wall there. My point still stands; it’s egregious to expect a family to blow at a minimum $200 for at least two people in the same house to play the same.game.
