NAT issues can be annoying, but thankfully Bungie has a simple guide to changing your NAT back to type 1. See the link below.

Always been Nat Type 2 here, on my Virgin Media cable & wifes ADSL vodafone, never had issues with network nat type till sunday 4th June few days ago. I'm on Virgin Media cable (UK) & PS5, my wife as PS5 & on ADSL (Vodafone, yes sadly 2 lines in the property), & also she as same issue on D2 on her PS5. We have the recommended ports open/forwarded mentioned on bungie's post above in both routers, this makes no difference. This as never been an issue to us till we noticed it Sunday evening (4th June). Constant issues trying to connect to each other or friends(unable to join the target player due to a network issue), or if we do (as others have said) it drops someone not long after. I also see lots of other posts popping up from last few days with same issue that was not there when I checked Sunday evening on this forum, so somethings obviously changed Bungie side. Come on Bungie, lets get this sorted. . .

Hi Im Swat
Bungie fan, here since 2008. - old
As per the guide for a type 2 NAT...
Most network connections are allowed between the platform and other players, but some connections may be blocked. https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049496751-Advanced-Troubleshooting-UPnP-Port-Forwarding-and-NAT-Types
You are not guaranteed to be able to connect to everyone with type 2. It is highly recommended you have a type 1 NAT for the best experience. Refer back to the guide for support. Good luck.
