CoD or Halo. You want CoD or Halo.
Stop asking for a gunplay-only mode in D2. It's a space-magic game about superpowered soldiers. Stop asking the developers of the superpowered soldier space magic game to make a mode without superpowers or space magic.
Just F off and go play CoD or Halo.

My K/D is 0.76, not 0.5, and I play PvP more than I touch PvE at all, which you'd know if you actually LOOKED at my gameplay. You saw I disagreed with you, so you assumed everything about me. Fun fact: You're not wrong in the ability spam being a problem. Abilities are supposed to AUGMENT or SECURE an engagement, not be the entirety of it. Grenades are to start off a fight, or finish one. Class abilities are to give an edge at a critical moment, not be used every few seconds. Powered melee is supposed to finish a weak foe if you're able to close the gap, not used to 1-tap or secure multiple kills. BUT another fun fact? Superpowers are what make D2 feel like D2. Without the abilities, it just feels like another CoD, another Halo. Ever notice NOBODY likes being Suppressed, in PvP or PvE? How when we have our powers taken away from us, most players get annoyed because it's so limiting compared to how we normally are? That's because if CoD was the goal, we'd go play CoD. You got REALLY hostile over being told to play another shooter. I mean I did tell you to F off, but that's pretty tame compared to how half this fanbase acts. You being a prime example. I'm sorry for being so rude. Let's try again. What specifically makes you think a no-ability-mode on D2 would be different than CoD or Halo, and why do you want a mode like that as opposed to simply fixing the ability spam issue? Let's have a real discussion about this. I won't be hostile, and I hope you'll do the same.

Alright...let's start over...sorry for being rude too...I just got a little angry cause you started the f...words... All I suggest is a simple mode with matchmaking where we can't use abilities except jumping...sliding....normal melees. It should all about the gunplay. I believe the community would love it. Let the weapons do the "magic". So far we don't have that in the crucible. Momentum is not that "thing"...weapons are overpowered. Again:...I just want the destiny2 gameplay/gunplay (which we all love) as it is...without supers and non-stop abilities. That wouldn't afford any special resources from Bungie. Bungie makes a lot mistakes and a lot things right. Best movement/gunplay so far in my opinion. CoD or whatever can't touch that.

I don't...know that I can fully wrap my head around the vision you see, if I'm being honest. If we had a mode that had no superpowers, what actually differentiates the game from other shooters, gameplay wise? I'm not quite understanding why a no-powers mode would be a better idea than simply dialing down the ability regen builds so that spam isn't as prevalent, or even dialing down the ability effectiveness so that ability spam can happen without being as deciding a factor as it currently is. I do truly want to understand the appeal, but every time I think of this game without the space magic, I just...can't see anything but CoD, Apex, and Halo. We do enjoy our gunplay, but at the end of the day I don't know anyone who plays this game exclusively for the gunplay. It's about the power fantasy, the space magic, you know? Help me see the appeal in a mode that removes the driving factor behind half of the fun of the game, because I still can't wrap my head around it.

Then just don't play the gamemode. That simple.. I'm pretty sure that a big part of the community is in love with the gunplay/movement Destiny offers. That is the biggest + for Bungie, not the space magic.

Everyone wrong here Ability is good ...but not to be spam.like that and be the crutch of every fight I think shooter PvP games just dying overall since its no longer about skill but to abuse whatever is current broken and hide I remember back in the days when full lobby would call out the shotgun corner camper back in MW2 and peoples had fun playing these games and would run around with smg and not just sit in a lane and wait to feed their KD and ego

I hate pve. I don't enjoy pve. I play pve only when it suits me, or when I need to for a new gun or to unlock the DLC subclasses. To me pve is a bland wasteland of "power up, power up! Ohhh, sorry, you powered up but...well, we're setting the enemies to be twice your power and we're actually gonna LOCK you at less power than you earned!" It's boring, it's full of bullet sponges, and EVERY activity boils down to "kill things, grab objective and shove it somewhere, kill more things." The only pve I enjoy is the fishing cause for once, Bungie implemented a pve activity that isn't just "shoot bad guys" for 15 minutes. At least with PvP, every fight is different. You might see the same basic strategies in play but the execution on them is always different, and you can't get used to a pattern in PvP. Check my gameplay. I hardly touch pve. Most of my time on this game has been spent on PvP. I promise you, I'm not a pve supremacist, I just don't think you should play this game if you want a shooter with no superpowers.

Go play a different game is not really fair to say since we were promised for 3 years straight about a renewed focus. They only just last year started delivering. Fair frustrations are definitely on the table and while I commend your pvp enthusiasm and outlining the issue I have as well with pve. Go play a different game isn't the way to go about things. It's legit dead -blam!- the only response we get to fair feedback for pvp from the supposed "Non toxic pve community" if they were to call themselves that. Was his request truly outlandish? No not really but that isn't destiny. Does the man have the right to respond like he did? No but what did you expect from giving such a response. [spoiler]i found it kinda funny that he is spewing hate while running literally the most threadling spam build while running immortal adept and le monarque. Still rocking thay 1.12kd despite running those weapons🤢. While also running ophidians[/spoiler] Anyways, do with the info as you wish but deadass, don't respond like that. Ever. It doesn't make the environment any better

When u do checks, then do it right. I usually play Void Warlock...and I use what pvp forces you to play in competitive or trials. Or how.did u counter the smg overkill last season? I just have played few matches in iron banner with a strand build. I swap to le monerque sometimes when I'm out of special ammo. The main time during the new season I've played palindrome and sidearm, it also depends sometimes which map. 90% of my matches I'm solo. Yes, I'm not top tier but at least better average and not that kind who starts new accounts to hold xy2kd or more everywhere.

I did what info I could get since destinytracker has errors, I used guardian.gg. anyways, how did I counter smgs? Smart positioning and working with my team. You decided to be this nasty to someone when I can assure you, shaming someone for their kd, that 100.000+ people are way better than you.

If someone got onto a GTA forum and said "They need to implement a mode where you can't steal cars, and weapons can only be used for self-defense", they'd be laughed off the site. If someone got on a Stardew Valley forum and said "I wish there was a mode that let you kill the townies", they'd be laughed off the site. If someone got on a Town of Salem forum and said "I wish there was a mode without player death.", they'd be laughed off the site. If you want a mode that takes away the defining aspects of a game, you need to find another game entirely. It doesn't mean "stop playing this game", it just means "when you want something like that, play something else. When you're ready to play a game like this again, you're welcome to come back". "Go play a different game" does not mean "never come back to this one". It means "find a game that suits that desire" Because at the end of the day, there are so many games, no one game should cater to every little whim of every single player. There's enough variety if one doesn't suit every desire, you can find one that suits the ones the first one doesn't.
