Believe it or not, there’s more to stompees than just running faster. I know, reading comprehension is hard, but stompees provides a very large number of benefits in addition to just running. One of these benefits is jumping higher with any equipped jump. Bungie recognized that the thumb sticks on a controller make tracking a target with high vertical velocity extremely difficult, and have had issues balancing this exotic for years.

By that logic, they should also get rid of Blink and all Hunter dodges, since those are all faster than a standard controller's analog sticks can move.
-
Believe it or not, using something that has a cooldown/skill gap is different from just using a standard jump with a massive speed boost.

Edited by Sultan_of_Stanky: 5/13/2023 8:48:25 PMPlayers can adjust analog sensitivity and can count the audio cues from hunter jumps, something that’s much more difficult to do with titans and warlocks, as depending on their jump, they can be at varying heights but produce a similar sound. So if you have trouble looking up, try increasing sensitivity. I have absolutely no problem tracking hunters on PS5 with my fov turned up. If they want to nerf stomp-ees then they need to apply the same change to DM and TS. Make it so when you perform an action (sprint or jump) it takes a small portion of your class ability in pvp only. The sprinting exotics would be a slow continual drain, albeit a very small amount, or increase the cool down if sprint occurs after ability use. So you would have to return to walking or strafe speed for the recharge to the ability. That way, if hunters spam jump it decreases the amount of uptime for dodge, titans have fewer barricades, and warlocks have fewer rifts. You could also tie in seasonal weapon mods to hinder this further. Make anti barrier weapons do increased damage to titan barricades/bubble, unstoppable rounds slow health regen in rifts/well, and overload to slow dodge regen and destroy tether points faster. It would be a pain to balance, but could be done in fair way.

Too bad people still play on 4 sensitivity and have no Game awareness in PvP

Believe it or not, there's more to Dunemarchers and Transversive Steps than just running faster 🙄🙄🙄 Melee chain damage and instant reloads are both as good or better than the jump height provided.
Believe it or not, there's more to Dunemarchers and Transversive Steps than just running faster 🙄🙄🙄 Melee chain damage and instant reloads are both as good or better than the jump height provided.
Dunemarchers got nerfed and transversives auto reload has little benefits outside of its situational trait

Transversives are one of the best Exotics for soloing stuff as a Warlock. You literally never have to stop to reload, making your runs faster.

You quite literally instigated it yourself. I wasn't even referring to you originally, lmao. Flawless logic.

Dunemarchers will still do the exact same thing but less distance and damage But you skipped over the entire point. Both of these exotics have 100% uptime for movement bonus and slide bonus AND another bonus Yet Stompees will only get movement and slide bonus with jump height if dodge isn't on cooldown. Either both Dunes and Transversive deserve the same nerf (they don't) or all three should keep their 100% uptime (they should) If anything, just take away the jump height while dodge is on cooldown because the whole reasoning for the change according to Bungie is controller players can't look up
-
But with the AE nerf, if they jumped high, they weren't doing anything to you anyway.
-
AE got mostly reverted snipers and primaries no longer had any issues when used in the air and shotguns basically were unchanged it was only fusions and linears that struggled in the air.
-
lol you’re not helping their case at all. They pointed out the problem being specifically jumping and tracking jumping players. So if that is the problem, then the solution is to ONLY tie jumping(maybe sliding too) to dodge cooldowns. Not the sprint speed buff. 2 other classes still have 100% free speed increases.
