This is the real issue. They should honestly just do away with the economy altogether and create a system of upgrading that is time investment and not just using stock piles of materials some have exploited and thus inflated throughout the years.

D1 had upgrades through time/usage of items and such. It's 1000X worse then the material economy based system now. Heck we don't even need planetary recourses anymore like we did in the first 3/4 years of D2, and those were a heck of a lot worse grind system then what we have now. Can things get better, sure, but let's no go back to a worse system because the current one has some problems.
