Happened a few times for me too, I read on another post that the scorch may be killing instead of the actual ability. Maybe try incinerator snap?

So, that’s what I normally run. And for this reason, where C. Fire doesn’t count as a Charger Melee attack, I’ll continue to run Snap. But thought it was bizarre. It just sucks even more that this has been a “known issue” for a while, and Bungie has no plans to fix it.
