No… Sunbracers are not better than starfire. It isn’t even close, lmao. Starfire is too strong. Buffing other exotics to also be too strong would not fix the problem.

  • I'm not disagreeing that it needs some balancing. I'm saying that they are going to far with the Nerf yet again. They are definitely been things that needed a hard nerf in the past. However, when Bungie nerfs something, they often nerf it so its only purpose is to collect dust in your vault. The purposed nerf to the Starfire protocol goes a little far imo. Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a comparable DPS option for the locks? Something that can put us in spitting distance of the other classes.

It’s going to be an 8 second grenade. The exotic is still giving a full rift on grenade kill and two charges for your fusion grenade. It is still going to be extremely good, just not as game breaking.

  • Yeah, from 2sec to 8sec. That's a 75% reduction in damage potential. I think "game breaking" is a little overstated. It just brings locks to slightly above par with hunters and titans on DPS The other classes have been doing millions in damage at the end of a damage phase for a years. Yes locks can get there too with some cleaver weapon perks and surge combos but no where near as simple as the Starfire build. "This" is where I believe everyone (including Bungie) has the problem. It's the ease of use of this build. Because of that, I agree that it needed some tweaking. But sending it the way of the dodo, which is what this 2sec - 8sec increase does, goes a little too far. What Bungie is saying by doing this is, we don't want folks using this build anymore. I have other builds to use that I enjoy, so ultimately, this won't affect me that much. Devour is still top tier, suspend strand has been great, obviously solar nades are pretty fun. But the Starfire build was a great all around build that mkes the game fun and actually helpful to your team during endgame dps. Do you feel that every nerf Bungie has made has been fair? Do you not agree that there are times Bungie has basically shelved certain exotics so they are not longer effective? Not being an -blam!-, genuinely interested. I get that I am biased on this one as a warlock main. However, there's been several guns and gear across the classes that I just think Bungie went too far with.

A 2 second grenade that does extremely high damage isn’t balanced. An 8 second enhanced fusion grenade cooldown is still extremely good, just not game breaking. There is nothing on hunter or titan than competes with well lock fusion dps. There is a frown why my day one raid team had 5 of them and why the solo raid encounter shave players using starfire. Starfire is getting a well deserved nerf and I’m the same update, lots of exotics are getting well deserved buffs, just not to the problematic level of current starfire.
