Drop rate is fine
Stop using LS to farm exotic its not the point
90% of you could get a bad roll and it would be fine cause you don't go for legend and higher difficulty

Except you didn't "destroy" anything. Drop rate is [i]NOT[/i] fine and that's something the majority of people who pay any attention to this can agree on and it only gets worse every season. Farming Lost Sectors for exotics is literally the [i]ONLY[/i] reason Legend/Master Lost Sectors exist. And most people who farm for better exotics want them purely because we [i]DO[/i] in fact play legend and higher content. That's why we buildcraft... Nobody runs raids or GM nightfalls with garbage tier exotics unless they enjoy handicapping themselves or want a challenge.

You’re also getting loads of prisms, cores and glimmer. However, like you mentioned, the individual drop rate has become quite poor. The pool is so big now, and even if you were to get a exotic you want, chances that roll will be useful will be a hope and a whim. EDIT: Appreciate the effort you put in to this btw, it’s post like these with constructive and workable criticism that actually make the forums a good ground for discussion.

As OP shared, statistically you're almost never going to get what you want, let alone an improvement. Too many layers of RNG is the core issue. As for the non exotic rewards, I'm at a point in the game where every run that yields no exotic is just wasted time unfortunately. I'm capped on prisms and ascendant shards, glimmer is worthless to me and I have I'm pretty sure 8 stacks of enhancement cores in my vault and almost another full stack on my character? So yeah, I have all but given up on even trying because playing for any amount of time and getting literally nothing for my efforts feels bad in any game.

It’s a tough thing to balance. On 1 hand, you’ve got to maintain the “exoticness” and can’t just give them out like candy, especially to those that have just started the game. They need to be a item of rarity. On the other, for those looking to target specific exotics, there has to be a way to directly play for that drop, more so now with how big the pool is. Having 11+ individual exotic pieces in each slot really doesn’t feel achieve the desired outcome when farming them in LS currently. It can feel monotonous. Once you’ve gotten a new exotic to drop, succeeded drops of the same piece are strictly for stats. So having a direct method to target specific pieces only makes sense. No need to increase the drop rates at that point, as you know the next exotic you do get will be the one you want.
