First time I see this problem being reported; normally I'd say it's a VRAM problem, but if you could replicate the same on different cards with the same GPU and/or GPU family, I think it's better to report it to AMD too.

This is the same first thoughts we had when we saw it but nothing was an issue in any other VRAM . I've raised to AMD directly/privately but as we've not been able to replicate it in any other game, may be difficult for them to resolve but hopefully we can help some fellow guardians out if they are having the issues and suspect they have a faulty card.

What were/are the video settings used in the game?
-
We used 4k, 1440p, 1080p on all 4 Grpahics Quality presets. Capped and uncapped frame rates from as low as 50fps-120fps +, 85-105 field of view, HDR on/off, Film Grain on/off, chromatic aberration on/off and even 1080p at 50% render resolution, essentially we fine combed as many settings as we could including the ones I didn't type up. Honourable mention: We also tested on the most recent and previous 2 versions of drivers and also used all of the window modes too. Along with different storage devices and totally different accounts. Besides the different cards all being tested in different systems, probably worth mentioning it was also across different monitors with Freesync both enabled and disabled. Tried to replicate it in the secret in the tower where you can overlook Zavala - rest his soul - in the room with the smoke but no artifacts at all, just throttled frame rate (This room made my xbox overheat so this should have really cooked the card if it was a heating fault) temps didn't exceed 70c

Wind Impulse?

yep, essentially everything that has an option was tweaked from the Video settings list :D

In the Adrenalin video settings for Destiny 2, too?
-
Tried everything we could with and without adrenaline installed. Realistically, this shouldn't be happening with Adrenaline not installed either way but used it to see if we could do a work around. Outside of system utilities and the game is the only territory we didn't explore such as system or game files. We shouldn't need to do that by any means though but if there was a known work around as a temporary measure then this would be great for people whilst it's fixed

I'm curious to see if any player with RX 7900 (XT and XTX) can confirm the same problem; I have seen a few reports here, but for lower performance than expected.
-
Honestly, I'm really hoping that no one else is experiencing this issue. The sole reason for me bringing it up it is because it was replicated on 6 totally different cards with different cooler designs (All tested to not have the 110c j temp problem)

Got the same issue here. 7900XTX, many issues with Destiny 2. (playing on 4K 120Hz monitor). At first i had driver/pilot crashes when playing too high fps, capped them down and then it was ok. But i started to see those black squares artifacts in certain areas. Tried different settings (ingame or on Adrenalin), ran benchs, memtests etc, everything appeared OK. I was beginning to think i had a shitty GPU until i found this post.

I hope this saves you a pointless RMA, card is more than likely fine and crappy drivers aren't enough to RMA the card because it'll be replicated across every one you try. Would be nice to see this on the known issues tbh
