How? It is an end game grind for people who want the challenge (and fuel player count numbers late into every season). Nothing about that quest needs to gatekeep it from the average d2 player. Need a raid completion? Get on the lfg fireteam page. Need flawless GMs? Find some clans. Bungie wants d2 to be a social game on top of it all. And even then, there could be weeks when the entire quest could be done solo. The quest shouldn't be shorter than the 12-18h grind of doing the LS to get the perfect piece of armor. It is in place of that, with the same time commitment where Bungie gets better player numbers across many activities.
