Contacting servers when managing items

Ever since one of the last updates during Season of the Seraph, I am frequently being prompted with “Contacting Destiny 2 Servers” when I switch armor, weapons, mods, shaders, etc. The game lags for a few seconds and does not switch the item until the prompt ends. I play on Xbox Series S.

  • I get the same behavior, on Steam. Also seems to happen when clicking through completed bounties. And very, very rarely when claiming something from a vendor or transitioning between areas. Not seen any packet loss or delayed packets when it happens, speed remains constant and jitter stays low. Basically when the behavior happens to when it's not happening nothing seems different with regards to my internet connection.
