I don’t understand the hate against eververse. The first iteration when destiny 2 came out was a scam and straight up pay to win but what we’ve had since forsaken has been solid. It’s a purely cosmetic type of shop and has no effect on actual gameplay. Plus with the bright dust implementation, many things like exotic ornaments, ships, dances, shaders, etc. are all easily obtained just by playing the game and finishing weekly quests. While it’s shorter to just buy them of course it’s nice that you don’t even have to and the game provides a lot of ways to earn bright dust for free unlike a lot of games such a COD, Overwatch, Apex, etc.

It now has dungeons and seasons attached to it.., So technically speaking, there are now weapons etc attached to the eververse store. So there is that.

I mean I guess? That’s one separate part of the shop that gives QoL to buying the previous expansions. Would you rather have players have to go through steam or the console store and have to try and find the dlcs? The main eververse store is strictly about cosmetics. Saying it locks weapons behind paywalls is like saying buying a new dlc is pay to win since it gives you better gear.

Well… Being the store is evolving with what we purchase, where is the ceiling? At the end of the day, what bungie wants to sell vs what they want the outlets to sell should not be viewed as “a separate part of the store” being that there are no limitations to what can be added to the store… no? Just due to laws passed, most gaming companies had to get rid of rng purchases like loot boxes. Dungeon keys are a prime example. The seasons could be understood under your point… But bungie is adding costs per content.. And according to history.. as a company tries to test the market with what can be additional costs.. I refer back to my “where is the ceiling?” Eververse was never a pay to win. The game has no pay to win scenarios. The game has offered op scenarios via a paywall.. but none that would guarantee a “win” in any content. Eververse has evolved from cosmetics, emotes etc to adding seasons and dungeon keys.. of which said content has had some great things locked behind. G-horn, armistice armor etc… And we are talking about a game that now offers less per asking price per content drop vs the days of when eververse was started back in d1 with the sales pitch of “adding eververse helps fund content like 6 player activities, seasonal activities, and dungeons”. The whisper of the worm dungeon drop is an example of bungie stating the eververse store purchases helped make that happen. What is there to stop bungie from selling qol scenarios? Vault space? Guaranteed exotic boosts etc.. Bungie can create any scenario in their game just so they can create an answer in the eververse store. (To note, in other countries, bungie did sell exotics in their eververse stores.) What was the last reported eververse revenue? 300 million? I can guarantee you.. the “evolution” of eververse is not over.
