  • Is there any way that someone who can monitor in-depth account information could shed light on me? I seriously just want to know how my character could have been deleted, at what time, from where, and what device. I am very frustrated right now and want answers and then ill at least have some closure as to why a 6-year-old character just vanished.

  • How is easy. You or someone with access to one or more of your accounts manually deletes a character. Log data is not is proprietary info that Bungie does not share.

    okay but I am telling you with 100% certainty that no one did this on purpose or accidentally, no one has accessed my computer. Bungie is unable to send me an email to show me what happened privately. I understand forums are public and that information is private. I just believe there is some missing logical answer as like, no single person in my vicinity has accessed this computer.

  • Characters can o ly be deleted from within the game. It does not have to be on your device. If someone has your console or pc login info the can do it from anywhere. If you didn't delete it I strongly recommend changing your logins and updating your security.

  • How could they log into my device when I am already currently in the game on the only steam account that is linked to my Bungie account? That is not possible. As steam doesn't allow concurrent players on a single account.

  • It doesn't have to be your device. Any pc with steam installed could be used to login if they have your details or any Xbox if theybhave those details.

    Destiny 2 crossplay allows devices to play on my Bungie account through whatever the account is linked through. If you are playing Destiny 2 linked to crossplay, it should only allow you to play on my Bungie account if you are logged into my steam account. As I am the main user using it on one of my main devices, it should be factually impossible for someone to log in to steam and use the same Bungie account as me unless they have my steam login. Even if they did have the login they would have booted me from the destiny 2 game or would have been unable to play any game at all. As with consoles, I have not touched one in months but it is the same situation, my cross-save account is linked to my Microsoft Xbox account, and in my Microsoft account history, I have no logins on a console within the year 2023 as I have not owned an Xbox in many years now. There is no way an outside force could have gotten in without there being some alteration to my Bungie account, which there is not. And within my steam account. I have taken safe measures already but I still see this as impossible.

  • Cross play allows you to sign in to any linked account to play at any time. If you are actively playing steam and sign in on Xbox you will get a Weasel error and booted to title screen as only one may be signed in at a time. As you stated you were afk and not signed in upon your return nothing would have prevented you from signing in. Here is the bottom line. Your character was deleted and Bungie does not restore lost or deleted characters. If you didn't do it it is Highly recommended that you change your passwords and hardening your security.

  • I will do such, in the mean time it really would be incredible to know if there was 3rd party login as I still do not see it as possible since no one has logged into my Microsoft or steam account from a foreign device which it very much would notify me. I get my character is gone man, at this point I would like real answers to just know HOW I was screwed over.

  • I have already noted that are no foreign logins on both my Microsoft Account nor my steam account.
