FWIW, the new hunter boots for pairing with shards seems to apply its glow to both the exotic gauntlets and to the boots so that the items match. I think it is entirely reasonable to think the boots are intended to cause the gold triangle elements of the starfire robes to glow as well. Otherwise, this is a pair of boots that literally cannot match its paired exotic. You would need the boots to *not *glow with the robe equipped to get them to match, otherwise the boots will have an (non shadeable) white glow while the robes have (also non shadeable) gold elements. Looks odd, seems unintended.
