I have this exact same issue. Game seems to hard lock when it tries to load character profiles. Have tried restarting PC, verifying integrity installation . Checked for driver updates. Reinstalled the game entirely as well and launched it through GEFORCE just incase. It seems it's an issue on their end, at least for me. Hopefully they fix this soon.

I've been having this exact issue for two weeks after redownloading the game after a few years. I've tried maaaany things and nothing has changed at all. I've tried posting my issue on here, reddit, and steam and I've gotten no damn response. Even tried reinstalling the game through epic and that still didn't make a difference
