Very well written review. The initial portion of having souls games ruin all other action RPGs, or even games in general for that matter, is something I share as well. I grew up with the books and movies as well and also tried not to get too overhyped, and luckily was not at all disappointed. The combat and flow of it is trademark Avalanche style, and as a result felt very familiar and easy to pick up. As far as fighting multiple enemies, quickly flicking between two to three to cast a stupify and transitioning to the next will allow for a much longer combination period as the stupify spell had a long effect period, and can also be extended in the traits tab. I did find it a bit funny when you brought up a portion where you were under leveled and it frustrated you, as the souls games is notorious for gate keeping. Sure, some can still get through the entire game at soul/rune level 1, but it’s a great way to remind the gamer to turn over some rocks and explore the gorgeous game a bit more, then come back. All in all, this game is amazing so far. Really just want to be home playing… ughh
