Had a whole season of pain related to Drifter/Gambit, so why not one for Shaxx and Crucible?
I personally think it's long overdue.

I can't see any possible downsides to this idea whatsoever!

What could possibly go wrong

This is written in big letters on the wall at bungie HQ 🤣

People say Bungie never learns from their mistakes… but then they ask for a season centered on Shaxx and the Crucible, after already proving why this is a bad idea with the Drifter and Gambit. 🤣
-
PvP actually carries this game, unlike Gambit.
-
I’m curious if that is really true… Is there a way to see avg daily PVP players vs PVE players?
-
If Gambit left, the game would spark a little bit, if PvE end game content left, the game would crash and burn, if crucible left, the game would catch fire and slowly dwindle to ash. I’m not gonna say PvP or PvE carry the game because both hold a strong amount players. Gambit seems to hold a lot of players too but in my opinion not as much as the other two I mentioned.

My point was, there are no external metrics for us to really say one core component of the game “carries the game” more than another. I agree gambit has faded into obscurity, but I am guessing PVP probably sees the most stable number of players with predictable increases during trials and IB, but PVE still sees the highest overall player count. Bungie even recently shared that the entire year of Witch Queen has been their most profitable one yet and it was nearly 100% PVE focused. PVP got snubbed hard core, so I doubt PVP is carrying this game, more like a necessary evil if anything.

Great point but dawg what is that username
