Dark Future is like a What If?
What if Anna Bray loses her ghost and turns nasty and Eris is the Which Queen? I would welcome this twist with open arms.

Not quite. It happened but the time loop is resetting the primary timeline back so things can be done differently. The other timelines we see and interact with are a cosmic version of what if. They are real but those timelines are irrelevant.
