  • I was paraphrasing a quote from Zombieland, but that's okay. As for the bland taste, I imagine that's why it's usually supplemented with other flavors. German chocolate cake, for example.

  • Meh, different tastes for different folks. Personally, I love coconut, but most of the people in my family despise it. But, I've always been the strange one in my family, so I've made my peace with it.

  • I put shaved coconut in a noodle dish my wife makes that already has some spice and soy sauce for saltiness and it sets it off with the texture and hint of sweetness. My daughters scoffed at this for years but recently tried it and fell in love with it as well. I too know what it’s like to be the weird one in the family.
