The Tangled Shore and by extension The Hollowed Lair strike were sunset narratively because Mara Sov took command of the Awoken Military and secured their borders.
Part of this operation was pushing the Fanatic and his Scorn out. We have no idea what happened to him after this, nor do we even know if he has aligned with the Witness or not.
Though Bungie seem to be hinting that some confrontation between Fikrul and Crow is coming, as Crow accepted his former life as Uldren Sov.
