I expect it had to do with trying to keep the dog a secret by making it harder to glitch into the space or go OOB to get there. If the dog was right on the other side of the door, I'm sure someone would have glitched thru in week 1 lol

That actually makes sense. Glitching through is common enough that extra steps to protect a secret might be required. It's hard to believe anyone could glitch through to the place where the dog is when you find it.
