Anyone else read the news about Bungie not wanting to overdeliver in fears of letting its base down on future releases?
😂 Basically saying they can't even if they wanted to in other words. The nonsense that this business feeds it's players base is just so wrong. This business lost all their talent, and this last 4 years with their very poor work ethics proves it.

  • They were amazing once. Now they're just "progressive" virtue signaling trolls it feels like. I know that sounds harsh, but seriously, it just feels like they're a company focused on nothing to do with developing, and everything to do with their personal, and impossible idealization and agendas, and they hate everyone. Everybody has some form of personal agenda due to their beliefs, that's why people do stuff, but this; this feels next level; like just an egregiously mishandled, continuous blast of disdain for the player base (not fully unwarranted, but still not good) and Bungie falls so short as a business it feels like active sabotage. The game itself isn't bad, because most come back or stay, myself included, but it does have many issues that anyone properly doing their job, even just a little, could avoid, but Bungie as a company? Absolutely awful. I mean they can't even understand finances enough to stay afloat without their parent companies being there to buy and bail them out for awhile until Bungie rebels again, and runs away from another home, though, to be more fair, parent companies are awful too. Its like the business is run by a bunch of angry, rebellious, egotistical teenagers who know nothing about the world or business to put it short, but want to police it all. Too much focus on things they can't control, and none for their positions they got College degrees for. At least they can make a relatively functional product, but we're seeing that decline every day almost.

  • You said a lot, not the amount but what you said. This game was designed by a developer, the original Bungie and a business took over and destroyed that developer.

  • Yeah, they used to be visionary in their efforts, and weren't afraid to take a shot at something because it was about learning and growing. Part of that is taking out old or broken business models. They used to be respectfully honest, but direct. Man, I remember watching them create a real life Warthog that they took into the dunes out in Cali😂. I'm not one for nostalgia, but that was a business run well at the time. They had passion, commitment, and it was about the creation. If they can't maintain that, there's no reason for the business to exist, it'll just decline. I suppose everything has an end though. We always try to keep things around for longer than we should as a species.

That was when this business had key devs on the board that had a say. Now they have their mobile game business on the board, and that alone explains why these last 4 years have only gotten worse over time. It is a huge red flag, and never mind that this business is still using an outdated system from 2001 to run this game. I could deal with bugs, glitches, etc... that aspect of the game, but I can't deal with the disrespect, the lies, and the greed of having gamers pay a max profit for little next to nothing at all in designing content for a game. The original Bungie had passion, motivation, and inspiration to want to design a game for their player base as well as themselves. Anyone could easily see it in the work they produced.

  • Everyone quit, and they never rehired actual talent to replace them. Its just been patch jobs on a sinking boat.

Well, when Activision left that's all it took to know the game was screwed. It has literally gotten worse over time and this business just keeps feeding lies to the player base as if there is nothing wrong with it.
