The beginning of the end for him was Season of the Hunt when the so called strongest warlock to ever live got stomped by a projection of Xivu Arath and ever since they've been handling him poorly. It's such a shame man.

I believe at that point he was already taken by Savathun.

Yeah that's what I mean. Like they thought so little of him to do that to him.

It’s the “make Savathun look like a threat” kind of thing. “If she can do THAT to Osiris, then she’s a real threat.” Commonly known as “the Worf Effect”. It would have had a lot less gravitas if it was somebody like Amanda Holiday or Hawthorn.

Edited by Ferus Lux: 12/8/2022 9:06:06 PMNot someone like Amanda Holiday or Hawthrone but since she mentions she chose someone with few friends and a lot of enemies she could've chosen Drifter which would've had the same effect because he's more paranoid and alert than anyone and they didn't do anything meaningful with Drifter during those seasons anyway and Drifter doesn't even rely on his Ghost or Light. Also, i don't think it's fair to attribute that JUST to Savathun because she more or less picked up scraps. The real honor goes to Xivu Arath who beat Osiris, drained him of his light, and baited Sagira into detonating. Possessing Osiris was no different than possessing Holiday at that point.
