You're struggling because the activity forces you five levels under, and your loadout is fairly weak (at least your titans). Bungie is developing everything with the thought in mind that most players are going to have something close to a usable build, and so you get punished for not buildcrafting.

That absolutely doesn't make any sense once so ever. My friend, who just got the game, who saw my videos on Instagram, a very new player, hates this season and even wants to give up. Because he struggles in the seasonal event. Even I say it's a bit rough.
