I agree about the RNG. I understand that going for a piece of armor in a simple lost sector shouldn’t be a guaranteed drop. But a raid takes a lot of time, plus you need 5 other players with you, so you’re dependent on their availability. To then have to run it sooo many times just to get the exotic to drop is ridiculous. Why not just have the raid exotic be something you can purchase with Spoils? I mean, make it hella expensive obviously, but at least it’d feel like it was worth it, instead of grinding endlessly for nothing

  • My entire raid team had Vex by run 29 and ToM by run 12. It's not that bad if you run it each week.

  • So what you’re really saying is I should be raiding with you guys 😂 The drop rate [u]can[/u] be decent. I got EoT to drop quite soon after DSC was released. But a buddy ran VoG over 70 times just to get Vex. Where’s the fun in that? To me, a lost sector is a normal place to grind for an exotic. Solo, quick, simple. Same goes for a dungeon. 2 or 3 man, done. I don’t mind not getting an exotic straight away there. Like working towards the sword from Duality. Perfect. But a raid requires 6 people, not only working in sync, but also offering up what could be a few hours of dedicated play. Or running boss encounters in a potentially toxic LFG group. And the interest to keep raiding drops after individual people start getting the exotic. I think every clan has a handful of people who still need a raid exotic or a catalyst, but nobody wants to run the damn thing anymore because of raid fatigue/lack of incentive. In that case, having the raid exotic be purchasable for the max number of Spoils, would be a less frustrating solution. You’d still need to raid to collect spoils, and Bungie would be able to keep people active that way, but infinitely less worshipping at the altar of a false RNG god But that’s just my take on it 🤷🏻‍♂️
