I doubt the thing can go to the postmaster. In that case it would simply be lost.

But seeing how they are either straight up lazy or too incapable of changing that or if they even care it has probably very low priority, sadly this is unlikely to see change in the near future. All I (as a player) can tell you is try having the space next time. The Bungies don't refund lost or deleted items.
