Sorry, eruption is awful. If is comes back, I probably won’t bother with IB again. It’s that bad.
Sorry, eruption is awful. If is comes back, I probably won’t bother with IB again. It’s that bad.
Lord Kielron, thank you for your response. What are you biggest misgivings?

What do you mean by “misgivings”?

Sorry. You said if it should be a game type in the future, you would avoid IB. It's a different game mode next season by the way. What don't you like about Eruption that would deter you from participation?

Edited by Lord Kielron: 11/22/2022 6:53:11 PMSorry for the slow replies. Trying to compile my thoughts, as I only played it the first time around, so you’ll have to bear with me. My 1st issue is superficial really, in that I feel a party style mode doesn’t really thematically fit what IB is supposed to represent. But as I said this is just a superficial reason. I guess I’ll start my game play thoughts on the fact that it’s a poor take on the CoD Ghosts game mode “cranked”. Just doesn’t feel as sharp as the CoD mode did, but that could be attributed to the fact that Destiny doesn’t have a perk system like that to give bonuses out per kill like CoD has. So the things that Bungie could use, are just kinda breaking the game a bit in crucible. So it just doesn’t work from a gameplay standpoint like that. The map selection for the mode is not good. These types of modes almost require small maps, so that way you aren’t wasting your “primed” time running to the other spawn, hoping someone actually spawns in time for you to attempt to fight on. The most common maps I played on were long ranged maps that made it just ridiculous to have the timer on (Disjunction) Part of my reasoning might also stem from the sheer oppressive nature that some of the abilities like Titan Storm nades are like in that mode. Especially on maps like Twilight gap, where it was common for my character to get hit from all sides with tracking storm nades. It’s hard to have fun when select abilities are so oppressive like that. Ironically, the mode is one of the main reasons I actually backed off on the crucible as a whole, and have logged in less and less. It exasperated the ability issues prevalent in the crucible. I get it, it’s a party mode on the lines of mayhem, but it made certain issues painstakingly obvious as to what needed to be reigned in. Don’t get me wrong, mayhem isn’t good either. Mayhem used to be a fun mode, when super cooldowns were universal, because everyone was on an even field. But once they introduced cooldowns being on different timers, it ceased to be fun. No one is on an even playing field now. Ironically this is also why Trials: Zone mode has a bubble issue. That’s some of the things I can think of right this sec. I may come up with more things, if I can remember more of them.

I understand what you mean about the large maps and the Titan storm nades that NEVER should have made it through play testing. One would also think such an ability would be on warlocks as well, and not Titans. Enhanced magic nades I mean.

Edited by Lord Kielron: 11/22/2022 7:09:27 PMOh that definitely should have never made it through testing. I’m waiting to get called all sorts of names for that thought though. Happens all the time…. Warlocks seem to have lost a lot of “space magic” to the Titans. Still of the opinion that 3.0 classes may have been a mistake

I don't agree that Warlocks are as weak as they make themselves out to be. But I think that grenade was a missed opportunity for them, for sure.
