Or just add like cosmetics as rewards for reaching certain ranks

This would lock the lower Bracket Players out of higher Bracket Rewards leading to FOMO. Exactly what we should avoid here

Cool so handouts… No. If you don’t reach a rank you shouldn’t get the reward, it’s that simple. It’s also cosmetic, why would a casual player care about a cosmetic in a playlist they don’t play.

because this game is basically just based on customizing your experience. Your loadout + mods + weapons + looks. This is a huge part why people play. It is not a handout since people would still be able to obtain the stuff first and its exclusive, just like DMT + Hawkmoon were for a year. CSGO, Valorant etc... are the skill games and they dont incentivise the higher ranks, why would Destiny do that? It is exactly because of the above reason, you want to earn smth to show off, be it loot (like Not Forgotten or the other guns back then) or Cosmetics. It would be disingenuous to claim that these things dont matter in a game like Destiny. For the sake of removing FOMO it should be in everyones interest to avoid this. Imagine not playing now and joining in a month. You are now locked out of old Rewards. Wouldnt it be good to have a way of obtaining them?

CSGO and valorant are not loot based games. People play those games for the experience and nothing else, the games are fun in a vacuum and they dont need to be anything more than that. Destiny is entirely loot based. Yeah the game is fun but if theres no loot behind doing something no one is going to do it.

And having a lootbased game with skill lockout on loot seems quite weird to me and leads to a flourishing Recovery/Boosting Service/Cheat Market which is smth that Bungie should go against. It already is very annoying to tell New Lights that they cannot obtain certain Items anymore. Even if the first idea is not your cup of tea, isn't the kiosk idea atleast worth considering so that newer players/lower skilled players can obtain these rewards after some time of exclusivity? Just like the ornaments in the Kiosk currently. They are rewards for players that do play alot while it is available and can be purchased for a "steep" cost (for casual/new players atleast) at a later point in time.

I think if you advertise a mode as competitive but you get the same loot if you are at the top or the bottom of the bracket then the purpose is defeated entirely. Its like if they gave the 24hour raid emblem to everyone who didnt complete the raid but was in it for at least 12 hours. I agree that explaining stuff to new lights is annoying because of FOMO but that mostly applies to actual loot like mods and materials that is easy to get but you just have to have been playing the game for years. With aspirational cosmetic loot from getting to the top of a ranked bracket no one should have a problem with missing out if they cant attain it. Boosting services are already bannable and have been banned and cheaters are near nonexistent compared to before, the only "boosting" there is to do these days is getting a carry from a streamer in trials who is resetting a card to stay out of flawless pool but that only works because of the flawless pool system. Without it that market would be entirely nonexistent.

No, I would not be upset for not being able to earn an old seasons cosmetic set XD. What type of childish non sense is that, I did not play, I did not get the cosmetic rewards. In rainbow six siege, if I don’t hit diamond rank for the season, I don’t get the diamond charm. I don’t complain about it the next season, feeling entitled to it. I didn’t play, I didn’t get the reward. If you are playing Destiny 2 currently and want cosmetics from previous seasons because you “missed out” and feel entitled to it. I’m sorry but we have nothing to discuss, that comes off as childish and entitled to me.
