I think they need to ditch champs and just come up with unique enemies with unique abilities and attacks that require unique strategy and team work. If the best way you can implement challenge is to suddenly dictate what a player can and can’t use in a loot game, then I think you’ve failed on some level. Restricting what the player normally is capable of and can use isn’t legitimate challenge. It’s just a needlessly artificial way of imposing it.

    I feel like the new “tormentors” enemy type coming with the new expansion will be one of those unique enemy types we need. We also had the wyverns for the vex, but I still do not understand why they made them red bars as well. Such a unique enemy was put in the same category as any typical rank and file. I would’ve left them as yellow bars or boss types if I was Bungie. Hopefully they don’t do the same thing to the tormentors. Because champions are getting quite boring when it comes to “high end pve content.” So we are in need of special enemies like the ones I just listed above.
