Too much micromanagement from Bungie that is tied to a broken progression system. As a result, too small of a portion of the game is end-game relevant (loot, progression). So players wind up running around in a very small, very repetitive group of activities… which leads to frustration and burnout. Especially when you factor in the Champions system that severely limits player freedom in terms of what gear to use, and the design ethic that leads to one-dimensional gameplay.
