3 things here that you should keep in mind as to why this will never happen.
1, Luke Smith said they will never do that.
2, Bungie doesn't want to use their resources on that.
3, Destiny 2 is on its way to being dropped in a couple of years just like D1 was when D2 was released.
This is why you will never see dedicated servers in D2, and you guys need to accept that the outdated P2P is here until the end of D2 life span.

I will be done with destiny the day they make a third game. I was irritated that I had to give up all of my loot twice already, you’re gonna ask me to give up all of the eververse items I’ve earned or purchased? Naw. Update destiny 2. They’d have to take time off for a D3 to actually be good, and I’d rather them just take that time to update Destiny 2. I want to keep my stuff.

I’m definitely not buying a 3rd game. If they make it free from release maybe that’s a different story. But I suspect they won’t even be making D3
